The Navajo Arts and Crafts Guild, started as a co-op in Pine Springs, Arizona in 1942, is wholly owned by the Navajo Nation. Ambrose Roanhorse, Chester Yellowhair, and Fred Peshlaki founded the Guild to help Indian School graduates practice silversmithing skills. Renamed the Navajo Arts and Crafts Enterprise in the 1970s, it now has stores across Arizona and New Mexico. The Guild promotes traditional jewelry designs, using the Horned Moon as its registered trademark since 1955.
